the muse, a speckled hen, and keep your hands warm

It’s true, I get a lot done in the studio. And the reason is, my muse. Can you figure what she’s doing with her paws? Oh, my Artie cat. Layin in the sun with her, uh, ball of yarn. Thinkin about, oh…that ol speckled hen, maybe?

Oh…did I say “keep your hands warm?”

These are “wildberry mitts” knit with juicy singles spun from, right, an acid dyed roving. Here are 2 more 4 oz handpainted rovings. I love fat singles. But then, this mohair blend could be a dreamy laceweight. Ah…the possibilities. Just ask Artie the Muse, or this fellow, Mr Hedgehog. He knows a soft place to land when he sees one.

  1. Cats DO find the oddest positions, don’t they? πŸ™‚ It *looks* like her left leg is a bit stretched and tucked under her chin toward the window; it’s the paw we see sticking out on the far side nearest the wall. And I’m guessing that in order to make herself fit against the wall a bit more neatly (and be in the sun), the right shoulder is shoved down and under in such a way that her right foreleg at the join (the “wrist”) is actually tucked under her neck in a kind of a mini-hug so that her right paw is sticking out sort of upside down, pads up, on the camera side of her head. How’d I do? πŸ™‚

But the bag is just too cute, and I’m dying of curiosity to see how that multicolor roving to the left works up. πŸ™‚
